Happy New Year!

Wish you have a great 2018!
There are many exciting things happing in Edmonton for 2018 and beyond. Some of this may be due to the price of oil now double what it was 2 years ago 

but mainly it is from large construction projects, completed, underway, or soon to start. A personal favourite I am looking forward to is the new outlet mall by Edmonton International Airport opening May 2nd. I love shopping and getting good prices (who doesn’t?) but the real winner here is it is creating thousands of jobs. Work is progressing steadily on the new Valley Line LRT and it looks like they will be fast tracking (pun intended) the Heritage Line extension now that Edmonton was successful in annexing land to the south.


The City is building many new schools, a new hospital and finally completing the Terwillegar freeway along with the LRT as it focuses on expanding to the South West.
As a result of all this, Real Estate is getting busier even though we are still middle January!
It is still a Buyer’s Market, so you can find some great deals and with this improvement in the local economy things are looking up whether you are Home Buyer or Investor.

10 Years In Real Estate!

Unbelievable this is my 10th year be a Real Estate Agent in Edmonton. It feels just like happened yesterday. I still vividly remember moving from Vancouver to Edmonton in 2008, not knowing many people in town, and just got my Real Estate license, but within one year I become one of the top 5% of all Edmonton Realtors®. It was lot of hard work, but created many new friends who trust in me, and gave me this opportunity to help them buying and selling Real Estate. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity and each year I meet so many new and wonderful people and they refer their friends too, so I am doubly grateful. Thank you for believing in me and trusting enough to refer your friends and family.

Successful Goal Setting

Have you heard there are no unreasonable goals, just unreasonable timing?
Here are some of the high-lights from a goal setting training I did recently for the agents in our brokerage.
In setting up your 2018 goals, they should cover all areas of your life so you stay balanced.
Even though this was a business training and you would expect to set goals for business and finances, it is important to include relationship, social, spiritual, personal fun time and contribution.
Next, you should prioritize your week into production time, flex time and fun time. If you need more clarification on how to do this, email me. Once you have this done, you can simplify each goal by breaking into smaller and smaller pieces. If you do 3 small actions towards one of your goals every day, in just a year that is over a thousand combined actions. Do you feel you can complete your goals now? As the saying goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”.


Plagiarism Is The Greatest Form Of Flattery

Recently we found an agent had copied large sections of our website SelenaCheung.ca including images, wording and layout. They had also embedded the Rental Property Analyzer and Search By Zone pages. Now while it is flattering to have somebody like your hard work and creative effort in developing the best ways to search for houses, it doesn’t feel good to find somebody blatantly rip it off and call it their own.
We spoke to the agent responsible who removed it right away.
