Leduc
The City of Leduc is located 15 minutes south of Edmonton close by Edmonton International Airport. Originally founded in 1899, Leduc has grown to almost 29,000 inhabitants and is set to grow further as the City of Leduc was successful in Annexing land from the County of Leduc which effectively doubled its size. Oil was first discovered in the area in 1947 and there is a strong industrial component to the city with its northern industrial area which blends into Nisku Industrial area, one of North America’s largest and fastest growing industrials parks. It still has a small town feel to it and locals are known to socialize in the many outdoor walking trails, parks, skating rinks or the newly completed Leduc Recreation Centre with its 3 NHL sized rinks, aquatic complex, 8 curling rinks plus a running, walking fitness facitly.
