Industry regulatory requirements
Canada’s federal Privacy Law applicable to the private sector is formally referred to as Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). The purpose of the act is to establish rules to govern the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information by commercial organizations. An organization is allowed to collect, disclose and use the amount of information for the purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstance.
As well as following PIPEDA we also have to follow the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) and the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) guidelines because we are licensed Realtors® and only licensed to trade in Real Estate in Alberta, Canada. That means this website is for Canadians looking to buy or sell Real Estate here in Alberta.
