Selena News January 2021 Edition
ISSUE: 139
Welcome To 2021
So glad to put 2020 behind us as it was not the year anyone could have predicted but given the changes Covid forced on everyone’s lifestyle there were some important lessons learned. Starting the new year Fionna asked “is Covid over now?” I wish, but reality is we have another year where it will continue to impact the lives of everyone. Stay safe, stay healthy and best wishes to everyone for the coming year.
New Trends
Last week Davies Property Management posted an article about population growth that we found interesting. Alberta is known for having a boom bust economy cycle which has a big impact on our population growth. When oil price tanked at the end of 2014 transient workers left the province over the next 3 years but then Alberta made a big comeback with international immigrants as our housing price is so affordable. With the travel restrictions imposed recently this has caused a marked drop in international immigrants but despite this, Alberta still posted 0.98% increase almost double the national average (0.54%).
In a nutshell, people are having babies, so what will this mean to Real Estate in Alberta. CREA forecast a 9% increase for 2021 but CREA gives national averages where as Real Estate is local. In Edmonton we are seeing a shift away from condos and a move towards homes where people have small back yards such as duplex and skinny homes. Space for a proper home office is important too as more people work remotely. With new housing starts being low, we do expect to see an increase in prices but at a much more modest level than CREA predict for Canada.
Gloria’s Story
Thanks Selena for the privilege of being in your newsletter!
Good news, a fresh New Year is upon us! 2020 has been difficult for everyone in many ways, from the impact of the Covid19 pandemic, to the restricted lifestyle in order to stay healthy, not to forget the economic downturn. 2021 is your time to start anew with fresh opportunities. Ten years ago I retired & life then took a different path. The past 7 years saw me taking an active part in care-giving, first with my mother until she passed away in 2017, followed by my husband, who after he recovered from 2 major surgeries, passed away suddenly in March 2020, only to be faced with my father’s sudden passing after a short illness on November 1st. During my 30+ years of successful business, I have learned that life is a journey. When life gives us lemons, we can blame things such as the economy, or we can make a choice & do something! I have a deep desire to create a positive impact on others and continue to use my love of personal development creating a legacy of successful people. Health has always been important but in those past 7 years more so than ever. I used to have arthritis which became so painful that I had to stop running but then in 2018 I was introduced to a nutraceutical product that made a difference for me. Imagine, life bounding with energy and no pain! Products that make you healthy and prevent disease. People think I’m in my 50’s and yet I feel 30! The greatest gift you can give someone is freedom, whether it be health or wealth and certainly both. I am pleased to share this with everyone to help them wake up feeling healthier, happier and obtain the lifestyle they have always wanted.

Healthy Body
Last month article about my mother’s 81st birthday generated much interest. I feel blessed that so many people read my newsletter and reach out by phone or email. Everyone asked what is her secret to being so healthy. I am sure I have shared this before as her doctor even wondered what she is doing to stay so fit and healthy. Her last routine check up shows she is healthier than before. We have been taking supplements made by Sisel. I was introduced to Sisel products by my friend Gloria a couple years ago and saw big improvement so I encourage mom to start too. With this pandemic happening, I realize the importance of healthy body and strong immune system to keep everyone well and because of that I invited my dear friend Gloria to write an article to share with us and I hope you will get inspiration from her too!
Little Chef
Fionna loves cooking. Last month she helped make birthday cake for grandma and then daddy and her made lots of fruit loaves that we gave to friends for the holidays. One of her favourites is tiramisu and she even got up early new years day and made us all banana pancakes.
